Sometimes it is really difficult to keep the students fully motivated and interested in reading. As teachers we try different and attractive ways ,but it stays the same: a challenge.
Some students really enjoy reading whereas some prefer to do other things instead, more isolated and some of them try to read ,struggle but they can't make it. There must be some good ways to motivate them to read every day. Not as teachers but also as parents there are some minor tips that we could use.
Once children lose interest in reading, it's hard to get them back.

If parents let their children choose books themselves this will make reading more motivating and make reading a memorable family event.
We may ask questions about the story at bed time.
We may arrange a book family time to read with your children every day.
Create a special reading place, reading corners at school or at home, with the kid's favorite books We may also encourage children to read words on TV, street signs and names etc...
We may organize a reading day at school or in our neighbourhood.
Also teenagers could read articles and magazines about anything interest them ,music ,technology, latest movies.
Try to specify a regular visit to the library.
If you are a good model, they will learn easily emphasize the importance of reading.
And the earlier you start reading the better results you get later.
Use reading time to create a special bond with a child.
Reading also gives chance to exercise your brain which is so important when you become old.
As a parent or the teacher you are the one who is fostering the kid's ability in reading by giving the priority at home as well as at school..

The motivation to read also begets to decrease as kids get older. Reading is a vital skill. If you don't practice, you won't develop the vocabulary, the skills etc. You won't be able to read fast.

What's your point of view?

Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.” - William Shakespeare-

What do we want from our students? Great success? Eagerness to learn? Inner development? Being excellent?

The first thing ,I believe, is to teach how to become autonomous learners.

If the learners involve their own learning process , it will lead them being good learners, especially when they are given the responsibility in determining their own objectives and goals and in designating their activities and materials in learning process. This process will easily and definitely bring the inherent success. The kids should experience the achievement and should realize that it happened because they tried hard and did their best...

An Ideal Classroom

What is an ideal classroom setting?
The classroom should be a place reflecting interests and needs. It's not just the teacher's class but also the students' . Students should feel like they are walking into their own room .
My philosophy is based on independence and expressing themselves freely. My main aim is to help them develop self-confidence.
When we think the classroom as the unique learning environment, teachers can spend more time doing what they can do best- teaching- after they set the routines and procedures. There are many ways to create stimulating learning environment.

What's the use of Creative Drama in our lessons?

It's known that games are the vital parts in children's lives. They gain a lot when they play games. They get ready for their future roles. Modelling and acting -as if - situation gives them the oppurtunity to prepare themselves independantly.
Creative drama provides children to define and differentiate their feelings and leads them to convey themselves in a proper way. It also enriches child's imagination / skills . It plays a great role in developing the artistic quality in themselves and creates a tendency in any kind of art. It develops the critical thinking ability as well.
Drama also contributes in developing the aesthetic conciousness and sense. Because the children reflect their feelings at the time of the activities, it influences emotional improvement in a positive way .
In spite of the fact that drama doesn't give the priority for having fun and entertainment, while acting -as if- situations they have great fun. Drama amuses the kids and creates the feelings of hope and optimism .

In short, How will we get most use of it?
We'll discuss our thoughts and ideas here..
